Tim Tebow had a chance to prove himself in training camp with the New York Mets this season, but he did not do enough to make the major league roster.

The Mets announced on Tuesday that they have reassigned Tebow to their minor league camp as part of their latest round of cuts. Tebow, who went just 4-for-15 in Grapefruit League play, will begin the season with Triple-A Syracuse.

In fairness to Tebow, he was absolutely robbed on one ball he hit to the gap, but it takes more than that to get the MLB invite. While he’s closer than ever to making his major league debut, Tebow is still going to have to work for it.
